BOYETT PETROLEUM
B GREEN RECYCLING PROGRAM

B Green is Big Dollars for City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods!

Thanks to Boyett Petroleum staff and Modesto residents, Boyett Petroleum donated $ 10,000 to the City of Modesto’s Adopt a Park program.  Dale Boyett presented the check to Mayor Jim Ridenour generated through the Boyett Petroleum B Green Recycling Program which began July 18, 2009 at the recommendation of Boyett Petroleum staff members wishing to do something good in the community.

B Green is simple, Boyett staff and Modesto residents donated their CRV glass, cans and plastic, e-waste and document shredding at several B Green Recycling collection days in 2009.  Boyett Petroleum matched the value of all those donated items and voila, Big Dollars for City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods.

B Green Evolves
B Green continues to evolve as more and more people get involved.  Now anyone wishing to donate can “B Green Everyday” by either going directly to B Green Recycling Partners, Modesto Junk Co. (for CRV bottles, glass and plastic) or Electronic Waste Management (for e-waste) and mentioning “B Green”.  Or B Green participants can put their CRV recyclables in any of the City of Modesto recycling cans found in over 60 locations throughout the City.  How cool is that!!!  And convenient!

Boyett Petroleum B Green will also host a collection day at City of Modesto’s Earth Day, Saturday, April 17, 2010, Graceada Park, Modesto, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Once again collecting CRV, e-waste and document shredding.

B Green and Amgen California Tour
B Green will also partner with the Amgen California Tour by sponsoring a B Green Business Challenge, local businesses can compete by donating the most recyclables to B Green between now and April 30, 2010.  The winner receives 10 VIP Passes to the Amgen Tour, Wednesday, May 19, 2010.  In addition, Boyett Petroleum will host a B Green Recycling Collection Day on the day of the race.

B Green Park Plan
What’s the plan for all this B Green gold?  The restoration of the Tidewater Southern Caboose to be placed  at Roosevelt Park trailhead of the rails to trails park on the Virginia Corridor at Orangeburg Ave.  The next time you’re in that area, look near the rose garden, you can see an empty cement pad that was intended for the Caboose years ago when the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods acquired it.  Money ran short and the Caboose never made it.  Thanks to B Green and you the Caboose will be restored and moved to it’s rightful spot along with illustrative signage explaining how the trail was originally part of the Tidewater Southern railroad where tracks right through neighborhoods.

B Green Future Park Plans
There are so many parks that need help in Modesto and many thoughts as to what’s next upon the completion of the Caboose.  A water feature, a dog park, playground, Boyett staff and City of Modesto staff all have great ideas.  What do you think?  Submit your comments and suggestions  at :  http://www.cruiseincruiseout.com/suggestions.html
